HERE TODAY GONE TOMORROW

"Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle."
Proverbs 23:5

"Do not speak to a fool, for he will scorn the wisdom of your words."
Proverbs 23:9

"Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you punish him with a rod, he will not die. Punish him with the rod  and save his soul from death."
Proverbs 23:13-14

"Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat, for gluttons and drunkards become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags."
Proverbs 23:20-21

"Do not gaze at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly! In the end it bites like a snake and poisons like a viper. Your eyes will see strange sights and your mind imagine confusing things."
Proverbs 23:31-33

Wow, some of these proverbs really get a person thinking about drinking. I suppose the 'Sayings of the Wise' are warning us about what happens when we 'over do' it. All things in moderation I guess? After all, the very first miracle Jesus did was to turn water into wine at a wedding feast. So it can't be 100% bad for you. Here's where self-control comes in. Just don't get carried away with it or we will suffer the conseqenses in one way or the other. Too much will make us sick, poor, unhealthy, dangerous, and stupid. There you go, use it in moderation and it can be a blessing.
May this day bring you peace, love, joy and wisdom from the LORD. Shalom!
